Draw times
| Draw | Time (IST) | Time (Thailand) |
|---|---|---|
| Dear 1 PM | 1:00 PM | 2:30 PM |
| Dear 6 PM | 6:00 PM | 7:30 PM |
| Dear 8 PM | 8:00 PM | 9:30 PM |
The draws are held every day except the national holidays (26 January, 15 August and 2 October). Results usually come out within 10 to 15 minutes of the draw. On this site a result appears only after two sources agree, so it can be a few minutes later than the first websites to post it.
How the prizes work
The first prize (₹1 crore) goes to one complete ticket: a two-digit number, a series letter and a five-digit number, for example 92D 37399. The consolation prize (₹1,000) goes to every ticket that has the same five-digit number as the first prize in any other series. Lower prizes (2nd to 5th) are drawn as five-digit and four-digit endings: a ticket wins when its last five digits (2nd prize) or last four digits (3rd to 5th) match a listed number.
Where the numbers come from
Each result on this page is published only after two independent websites (nagalandlotterysambad.com and sambadlottery.com) show the same first-prize ticket, draw name and draw number. If they differ, the draw is not shown.
Official results are published by the Nagaland State Lotteries department at nagalandlotteries.com.
Lottery Sambad results are for information only. LMEX does not sell tickets or take bets. The Dear draws are Nagaland State Lottery draws (the 6 PM draw is listed by our sources under the Sikkim State Lottery), and buying tickets is legal only where state lotteries are permitted, for adults aged 18 and over. The official result published by the lottery department always takes precedence. Play responsibly, set a budget and never chase losses.
What "Lottery Sambad" means
"Lottery Sambad" is the name most people in India use for the daily results of the Dear lottery, a series of paper state lotteries that are sold in several Indian states and drawn three times a day. When a reader searches for Lottery Sambad today, they usually want the winning ticket numbers of the 1 PM, 6 PM and 8 PM draws. The name belongs to the way the results are reported rather than to a single government body, so it helps to know who actually runs the draws.
The draws are organised by Indian state lottery departments, not by LMEX and not by the result websites. The official results of the Nagaland State Lotteries are published on the department's own website, nagalandlotteries.com, as a sheet for each draw. LMEX only reports the numbers, and we explain here how they work so you can read them correctly.
The three daily draws and who runs them
There are three draws a day, at 1:00 PM, 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM Indian Standard Time. In Thailand time that is 2:30 PM, 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM. Results usually appear within 10 to 15 minutes of the draw, and the full sheet may take longer. The draws are held every day except national holidays; the days we treat as no-draw days are 26 January, 15 August and 2 October.
Which state's lottery a draw belongs to is a common source of confusion. The 1 PM and 8 PM draws are listed by the sources we check as Nagaland State Lottery draws. The 6 PM draw is listed by those same sources as a Sikkim State Lottery draw, although the Nagaland department's own site also carries a sheet for that time slot. We follow the names the sources print on the sheet and do not guess beyond that. Each draw has its own name, such as a "Dear" series name tied to the day of the week, and a draw number, and both appear on our draw pages.
How the prizes work
A Dear ticket carries a two-digit number, a series letter and a five-digit number, for example 92D 37399. The first prize, ₹1 crore, goes to one complete ticket, matching the number, the letter and the five digits. The consolation prize, ₹1,000, goes to every ticket that has the same five-digit number as the first prize in any other series. Lower prizes, the second to the fifth, are drawn as five-digit and four-digit endings, and each draw's official sheet lists them all.
On LMEX each draw page shows the first prize and the consolation prize. We do not yet list the lower prizes, because we publish a number only after two independent sources agree on it, and a second source for every tier is not available for all three draws. For anything below the first prize, check the official sheet.
Reading a result is simple: find your series letter first, then match all digits in order. A ticket that matches only some of the digits does not win the first prize. The consolation prize depends only on the five-digit number, so the series letter does not matter for it.
Claiming a prize
The claim rules are set by the state that ran the draw, and the official notice on each result sheet is the authority. News reports that summarise the rules for Nagaland draws give the following outline, which you should confirm against the official notice before acting.
- Smaller prizes, reported as up to ₹10,000, can generally be claimed through an authorised distributor or agent.
- Larger prizes are claimed with the original ticket, a claim form and identity documents, submitted to the state lottery office. Reports give a period of 30 days from the draw date, so do not wait.
- A ticket that is torn, altered or damaged may be refused, so keep it flat and dry and photograph both sides.
- Prize money above a threshold is subject to tax deducted at source, and the rate and conditions are set by Indian law. Ask the lottery office or a tax adviser rather than relying on a website's summary.
Be careful with anyone who offers to "claim for you" for a fee or asks for your ticket photo and bank details in advance. The official channel is the state lottery office or an authorised agent.
How results are checked on LMEX
Each draw appears on LMEX only after two sources agree on the first-prize ticket, the draw name and the draw number. If they disagree, or if one has not yet published, the draw stays off the page. This can make LMEX a few minutes later than the first website to post, and it is deliberate: a late result is better than a wrong one. The two sources both transcribe the same official sheet, so the check catches typing and scraping errors, not mistakes on the sheet itself. When it matters, compare with the official sheet at nagalandlotteries.com.
We do not publish predictions, lucky numbers or "guessing" tips for Dear lottery. The numbers come from a draw, and no pattern in past results can tell you tomorrow's.
Legal note and playing responsibly
Paper state lotteries are legal only where a state permits them, and several Indian states prohibit or restrict lotteries. LMEX publishes results for reference only. We do not sell tickets, run lotteries or take bets, and nothing here is an invitation to buy a ticket in a place where it is not allowed. Buy only from authorised sellers in a state where it is lawful, be 18 or over, and treat a ticket as a small entertainment spend, not as income. Set a budget, never borrow to buy tickets and stop if it stops being fun. If you or someone you know is struggling with gambling, contact a local support service.
